Subh-e-Nau holding tennis referees three day training course in city

Karachi, July 03, 2008:- Subh-e-Nau, an environment and public health concern, also engaged in promoting tennis in country, will hold a three day umpires’ training course here starting Friday at the CDGK tennis complex on Kashmir Road. The aim behind holding the course from July 4-6 was to expand the base of technical officials add new technical officials to overcome the shortages of technical officials and create a large group of officials all over the country, said the chairperson of the Subh-e-Nau Ms. Shahida Kauser Farooq through press release issued here Thursday.

It may be mentioned here that the Pakistan Tennis Federation awarded associate membership to the NGO in recognition of its services to the promotion of tennis a few days ago .For more than eighteen years now; Subh-e-Nau has been engaged in organizing a number of national and international tennis events both at Karachi and Islamabad.

Mrs. Farooq said that her organization also intended to hold similar kind of referees training courses in other parts of the country. She said there were only hands full of competent technical officials mostly based at Islamabad and hardly any recognized technical officials elsewhere in other major cities of the country. She said all those interested in attending the course are advised to reach CDGK complex on Friday at 3.30 where they would be registered for the course.
Shahzad Akhtar Alvi an ITF White badge umpire, she said had been invited to hold the referees courses.
