Aqeel, Asim, Jalil,Nomi moved to next round of Hard Court Tennis

Karachi, July 6, 2008:- Top stars moved to next round of Subh-e-Nau National Hard Court Tennis Tournament being played here at Modern Club Tennis Courts on Sunday. Top seed Aqeel Khan, Asim Shafik, Jalil Khan and Nomi Qmar rushed towards next round of Men’s singles without in strong resistance from their opponents. However, Yasir Khan, Sindh Ranking Tennis Champion, had to do hard work to overcome his opponent Abdul Majid. Though Yasir won first set with little ease, however Majid came back strongly in second set. Their score remained 6-4 and 7-6. A total of 15 players moved to next round of above said category.

First round of Boy’s U-17 matches was also played on Sunday in which 15 players made their way to next round. Quality tennis was played by the country’s future tennis talent.

Young Aqeel Khan, Murad Khan, Faraz Faiz and Ahsan Shahid were among those who made their way to next round of Boy’s U-13 category.

Second round of Men’s singles, Boys’ U-17 and Boys’ U-13 would be palyed on Monday. Finals of tournament are scheduled to be played on Thursday, followed by another tournament as Subh-e-Nau Tennis Cup.
