Nomi outplays Asim to reach final of National Hard Court Tennis
Natasha/ Ushna Clinch Ladies Doubles Title
Singles Finals Today (Thursday)

Karachi- July 9, 2008:- Nomi Qamar thrashed favorite Asim Shafique in National Hard Court Tennis here at Modern Club Tennis Courts. Asim came back strongly after losing first set by 6-4 and got the second one. However buoyant Nomi gave him tough time and clinched the final set by 7-5. Their match lasted for more than two hours. Jalil Khan, however, was easy opponent for his brother Aqeel Khan. Aqeel won first two sets by 6-3 and 6-2.

Aqeel Khan and Jalil Khan got title of Men’s Doubles. They beat Yasir Khan and Zia Hai in final. Natasha Afridi and Ushna Sohail were the title winners of Ladies’ Doubles. They beat Top seed Sara Mansoor with her partner Saba Aziz in a memorable contest.

Faizan Khurram registered upset victory over top seed S. Zohair Raza in first semifinal of Boys’ U-17. Zohair won first set by good margin, however he could not keep his struggle alive and lost next two sets. Faizan will have to face Heera Ashiq in the final that beat Omer Shahid in second semifinal.
Favorite Kashan-ul-Haq clinched title of Boys’ U-13. He beat Faraz A Faiz in final in two straight sets victory.

Boys’ U-17 is being scheduled to be played at 9:30 am while Ladies Singles final will be played at 3:30 pm. Men’s Singles Final will be played at 7:30 pm followed by award distribution ceremony. Provincial Minister for Environment Mr. Askari Taqi will distribute the awards.
